Aixsponza asked me to work on a project for the Melitta Group. I was honored to bring Kim Salt’s beautiful illustration to life. It was a huge piece filled with different scenery — from space to workplaces and leisure time — all connected by the overarching theme of coffee, which I also love. It makes the process much more enjoyable when you can truly feel the love the artist had while creating it.
Klee.Steinberger’s idea was to bring color to the black-and-white illustration using the mood and texture of coffee grounds, reflecting the way a sip of coffee influences our state of mind.
My Role:
Together with the Aixsponza team, we explored different techniques to infuse the illustration with color and highlight its many scenes. We chose to build a large-scale 3D After Effects environment, allowing us to fly through the artwork as it comes to life with particles, finally arriving at the central element that connects all motifs — the tree.
