Aixsponza invited me to join their team for a major project: The redesign of Sky Sport Austria and Germany. A wide range of sports formats had to be refreshed, with a special focus on the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal, and the Champions League. 447 elements had to be updated for sports such as basketball, tennis, golf, handball and ice hockey with different openers, background loops, commercial breaks, sponsoring assets.
All hands on deck - two months to get everything done.
My Role:
I explored various ideas and design concepts that would fit within the Sky Sport world and unify all elements. Once the core design was established, I created variations for multiple assets. The light-and-shadow elements proved to be a perfect way to tie everything together in a subtle yet distinctive manner. On top of that, we used bold typography and dynamic animation to reflect the energy of sports.
Then I moved on to what I love most: Animation. I created and animated light-elements for background loops, other show elements, openers for sponsors, and the opener for austria bundesliga.
